Melee has a lot of k0 options for pking... Dharoks, Godswords, Dragon claws, Dragon daggers, and maybe even some other weapons if you're a pure.

Ranged has dark bows and dragon bolts (e) but i'm sure some other ranged weapons like morrigan's javelins or throwing axes would do a pretty good job too.

But nobody uses magic to k0, it's only used as a side skill unless you can just freeze them to death and hope they don't have a teleport. What is pretty funny is that one of the best spells in the game - Vengeance - is only used for melee and ranged pking.

So the point is that Runescape magic needs a k0 weapon/spell. Maybe a descent of dragons spell (just copying the dark bow spec because i'm not good at thinking up a real k0 spell) that has a chance of k0ing your opponent (and the spell would have to take up your special bar) or a 10m staff that allows you to do a pretty nice k0 spell if you have certain runes.

EDIT: I had a request for an original magic spell so I'm going to come up with 3 spells (one for each book)

Normal Spell Book: Elemental Wave - Uses 50 or 60% of special bar and does all 4 elemental waves at once

Ancient Spell Book: Ancient White Dragon Attack - Uses almost 100% of the special bar and summons a white dragon to do a large attack

Lunar Spell Book: I'm really not sure that this book needs a k0 spell because vengeance + a k0 spell would be too powerful but this book should have at least one attack spell so that you don't have to melee/range to use vengeance.

Please suggest level requirements for these spells, I've never done this before so I don't know how to come up with those.

ALSO: Jagex should at least come out with some special attacks for magic, if not k0 spells.

Well, I woke up this morning after a dream I had about Runescape.

My dream was that a friend in real life, came to my home to take his strength skillcape.

After that dream, I remembered I had many dreams of Runescape before, and I was wondering if anyone else dreams about Runescape.

I guess the dreams can be separated to 3 categories.

1. In-game dreams:

The most common dream type, you just see Runescape and things that usually happen in it, like you fight a KBD and die, or you cook lobsters, the normal situation that you get in the game itself.

2. Weird dreams:

This is the type that shows something that can't really happen on Runescape, but you still can see it in the dream:

For example: it starts to rain while you try to land an airplane  in the center of Falador.

3. Reality intermixed with Runescape:

That is the kind that I had in my dream. You see reality (not the game) and you get things that are imported from Runescape.

For example: I came to the restaurant and asked the waitress to bring me a shark for 1k.

Chocobo Quest

Requirements: lvl 20 (Warning not 15. This number only implys to what lvl you can ride a chocobo after you get the licence) and 4 clumps of Gausebit Wildgrass.

First you must make your way to Jeuno and visit the Chocobo stables in Upper Jeuno. When you get there talk to the man named Brutus (hes under the hut thing in the pen). He will ask you if you want to ride a Chocobo. Answer yes and he will quiz you on chocobo handling. Then answer no. Than he tells you if you can tame the chocobo near Osker, you can ride it.

It takes 6 days (Vana'diel time) to get the Chocobo licence.

Day 1: Offer it the wild grass and he will recognize it as food but won't take it.
Day 2: The chocobo still won't take the grass.
Day 3: The chocobo takes the food from you. Then The owner will come and try and clame the Chocobo but it dosen't wan't to go near him.
Day 4: The chocobo eats from your hand.
Day 5: The Chocobo eats the food hapily.
Day 6; The chocobo is tames and you receave your Chocobo Licence.

Remeber chocobos are rented and thay only last untill thay get tired. Then thay will tosses you off and when you get off the Chocobo it will return home.

Easy Gil

Now we all know that getting gil isnt all that easy in the world of Final Fantasy. And some items arent that cheap when they should be. So for easy gil to get godly equipment, get 12 packs of crystals. Fire, dark, light, and lightning do not go below 1000 Gil at the auction houses. Then sell them at the ah's wait for the pay off, then go bid on stuff or have a shopping spree! I used this to get good beginner stuff like legionnaires staff, 2 eremetes rings (ima black mage) and some spirit pacts when i become a summoner

Sell 12x Crystals for gil at Auction Houses. You need to be wearing a signet for monsters to be able to drop crystals so make sure you have one first

Kill goblins and sell their armor, you can make 250 - 500 gil each

Easy Money - Levels 8 to 12

Ok, this is really easy. You can either do both of your first two missions, get your third one and pick up some stuff here to do something other than get money and level; Or, you can just go and level up and gain some money.

The Paloborough Mines, located at the top of North Gustaburg, is crowded with Quadavs. They drop Quadav Fetich Legs, Arms, Torsos, and Heads which can sell for 300. They aren't a really common drop, nor are they a rare drop. But each Quad you kill drops at least 10 gil. Sometimes they drop a backplate, which sells for 100gil at merchants and even more in the AH ( Auction Hall! ) Also, they tend to drop Shell Shields which you can either equip, or sell to a merchant for 200gil. ( Once again, even more at the Auction Hall! )

Fast and easy lvling

When your character levels to 12 go to La Theine (it should be on your map) keep going and check your map for a place called Valkrum Dunes now do NOT try leveling here alone until you are level 12 or higher. After that ask to join a party if you are accepted then get ready to fight some good mobs Depending on the party you should be getting 125 (or higher xp). Remember leveling alone is no good teamwork is always the strongest

Free World Pass

To get a free world pass, when the person that wants it makes a character, check the world. If it is not the world you want, delete the character and make it again until you get the world you want

Mining

This can be done by any character, of any level. The only catch is you have to be in Bastok. Darksteel ore sells for 7-8k ffxi gil. This will be your primary money-maker. Iron ore sells for 600-700 gil each, so you will also be saving up those pieces of iron, as they are far more common than darksteel, and can make you almost as much money by sheer amount of iron you mine compared to the relatively low amount of darksteel you will mine. Zinc sells for 300-500 gil, so if you are hard-up for money you can also sell that. There are other types of ore such as copper, tin, and silver, but they are not as profitable, and in about an hour's time, you can have your inventory completely full of iron, and should have 1-3 pieces of darksteel as well.

Here is the exact way to do it:

First, you need to have at least 200 gil to get you started, preferably about 1000 to 7000 gil. Completely clear out your inventory, including weapons and armor. You won't be needing them in the mines, and this makes room for your mining finds. There is a small shop in the Bastok mines district of town, aside from the weapon shop and the armor shop. It's a goods/items shop. It's easy to find. You just look for the armor and weapon shops and it's the only store in the area that has the little potion icon. You can find it on the map easily. Next you go into the store, head for the back room, and buy mining picks from the guy there. He's got tons of them at 200 gil each. You're going to need about 36 of them to most efficiently mine, but you can do it with as many as 1-2. They break sometimes after you mine with them, so the first few times you go mining, if you only have a few picks, don't get discouraged... you'll just need to buy a few more picks when you get some money saved up from your finds. Just sell whatever metals you get in the Auction House, and use the profit you make to buy even more mining picks, until you can finally afford 36.
The next step is to head into the mines. On the far left side of the map is a small circle drawn with what looks like a pencil. This is the entrance to the Zeruhn mines. You simply enter the mines and follow the left wall. Once you're in, you need to keep following the left wall, until you go down to a lower level where the walls change to rock instead of bricks. We'll call this mining home point. Now what you're going to need to do, is follow the left or right wall until you get back to mining home base, all the while searching for something called a "mining point" The mining point is a targetable spot on the wall, which is hard to find just by clicking alone. You're going to need to use the TAB key. What I do, is follow the right hand wall while repeatedly pressing the tab key until I get a mining point in my crosshairs. When I find it, I mine it until it disappears, then continue following the right wall until I get back to mining home point. Then I start all over, until I'm either out of mining picks, or my inventory is full.
Once you find a mining point, walk up to it as close as you can. Open your "items" menu and click on your mining pick, then click "use". Once you have clicked "use" a small blue arrow should pop up over the mining point, provided you have the mining point in your field of view on the screen. You'll see your pick-axe swing, and you'll get a piece of rare metal. Normally, I would say just throw everything away except for iron and darksteel, because these are the most profitable metals to sell, and you can fill up your inventory AND your bank with iron in less than a couple hour's mining effort. You can fill your inventory in less than an hour every time. However, if you're just starting out as a miner, and had very little money for mining picks, I'd recommend you take everything you mine to the auction house and sell it. Every little mining pick helps.
That was the hard part. Now is the easy part... selling your goods in the auction house. You should have about 30-50 pieces of iron and 1-3 pieces of darksteel after about an hour or two's work. The iron pieces on Bahamut server sell for 600 gil to 700 gil easily, and the darksteel pieces sell for about 7000 to 8000. Doing the math, that looks like about 30k gil for an hour's work. The only thing you have to worry about now is finding a way to list all of your metals in the auction house with only 7 sales slots. I highly recommend you buy another playonline content ID from the Playonline viewer. It only costs an extra dollar per month, but you can use it to make a new character on your server to help you sell. I call this an auction mule. Also with this mule, you can scout Winhurst and San'Doria and find out which city has the best prices for the darksteel and iron! Did you know that there is an NPC outside every auction house that will deliver items for you to any other character in the game's mog house? You simply click on the NPC, type the recipient's name into the field and click OK, then you put the item you wish to trade in the slot and click OK again to have it sent to him. Using this NPC, you can send your entire stock of iron to another city where the ores are more profitable. On Bahamut server, the ore sold the best from San'Doria, so I recommend you send the money to a mule character in San'Doria for the selling, and if you REALLY want to step up the sales, you can buy 2 extra content ID's for a small 2 dollars per month, and have 2 auction mules. Just scout the other cities, find out where the ores are selling the best, and sell there. If you REALLY want to get stuff sold fast you can sell from Bastok too, since the price shouldn't be too much different from San'Doria or Winhurst, and you'll have plenty to supply them with anyway... which leads me to another point. If you sell the ores for lower than the average sale price, you're going to kill the market for it. I highly suggest you sell for the same price as everyone else, using the "price history" button, or you risk ruining the ore sales for yourself and everyone else. Besides, it sells very fast. You shouldn't have to worry about anything.
You can easily make 15-30k per hour doing this, and I have had many times when I filled up my 7 auction house slots with iron ore for 650 gil each, and then logged over to my auction mule to list 7 more, and by the time I got back over to my main character all 7 pieces of the ore were sold and I had to repeat the whole process! Darksteel is pretty easy to get and very profitable, also. I was able to get 2 pieces of darksteel in under an hour, and those alone are worth 7-8k gil each! Good luck with the mining!

Starting Out

Level 1-10

GMS: Maple Island: Just kill all the monsters and finish quests if you feel like it for the extra EXP, not like you are doing anything.

KMS: Maple Island: Finish every single quest available. Not only will it bring you up to level 10 in about 15 minutes, but you will get tons of potions as well.

Level 10-15

GMS: Victoria Island: Just go to either Tree that Grew 1 or Slime Tree, great EXP.

KMS: Victoria Island: Just go to either Tree that Grew 1 or Slime Tree, great EXP. You could also try Floating Market, but that place is crap after 14.

Level 15-20

GMS: Victoria Island: Yup still here. Continue grinding on Slimes till 18 or 19. Orange Mushrooms are bad because your damage is all over the place, so Slimes are the next best

thing. Just go to Orange Mushrooms around level 18/19 then level till 20 there.

KMS: Victoria Island/Ariant: Same with GMS, except you could go to Ariant if you followed the Accuracy build and train on the Sand Rabbits if you have money to drain.

Level 20-25

GMS: Victoria Island: Now you're high enough to go to Green/Horny mushrooms. Just pick a tree in the "Forest South of Ellinia". Good EXP, you should also try making a party. This

would speed things up.

KMS: Ariant: You can to Sand Bunnies if you weren't following the Accuracy build now. Your accuracy is perfect to hit them 100% of the time, and you should be hitting 150's to

260's each Straight.

For Accuracy builder's, go to Meekrats, the ones that look like Timone from the Lion King.

Level 25-30

GMS: Victoria Island: Go to Sleepywood and start fighting at Ant Tunnel. Your Accuracy should be perfect to hit the monsters at least 90% of the time, so the EXP is great,

especially with Somersault Kick mobbing.

KMS: Ariant/Victoria Island: Accuracy and other builds can move to Cactus' now, especially daddies. The spawns are great so Somersault Kick is really helpful here as well.

Recently I have been seeing many Player Moderators in Runescape not acting as they are supposed to. Sometimes some new player asks a pmod a question (I know pmods aren't obligated to answer every question) and the pmod either says "noob", ignores the player, or responds using incorrect grammar (u instead of you and ect).

I have also been seeing way too many pmods using incorrect grammar, that (in my opinion) is a bad example of a pmod! Player Moderators are supposed to set a good example for the rest of the players. To me, it is pretty sad seeing a player moderator who can't spell (I don't mean one error in a whole sentence, the whole sentence being filled with grammar errors).

Sometimes while walking around I get asked some questions by Pmods (it doesn't happen like everyday but sometimes it happens). The questions vary - they can be a very stupid question about RS or can be a question about RS1 (like "Were Partyhats tradeable at first?"). Player Moderators are supposed to know almost everything (not to the last detail but very well general. Also don't take the Partyhat as an example. I know RS1 was very long ago and not many people from RS1 still play).

Also, I have seen some Pmods being pretty offensive to others (I know they're humans and have their limits but if they were smart enough to get Player Moderator status, they should be smart enough to [1] mute the player if he/she is being too offensive or [2] ignore the player and go on). I have witness pmods calling people (mostly newbies) things like "loser", "idiot", "imbecile", "noob" and many more names.

The great majority of the Pmods I'm describing were players who, almost, the only thing they did was report players for the simplest (and lamest) reasons (or for autoing  ). Jagex gave them Pmod status assuming they were fit but as we might be seeing.. they are not.

This is one example of not-well-suited pmod

I'm NOT saying all Pmods are like this. There are Pmods who are very well suited for the status they hold.

Just wondering if anyone managed to catch the new "Seven Swords" quest before it got pulled.

As part of the Angmar changes, the sword quests were changed from the old, fellowship-needed 7 swords to just killing 7 named (normal) angmarim scattered in a fairly small part of Angmar, followed by a small-fellowship instance to finish the quest chain off.

I didn't bother doing it until after the patch, by which point the final quest had been pulled because it was bugged (small fellowship quest but you could only enter it solo).

However I was reading on the Turbine forums that one of the selectable rewards from the new version is a pocket item with +14 Might, +14 Vit, +14 Agi, +1%parry. Sounds decent, was wondering if anyone had seen the quest/completed the quest before it got switched off by the patch to confirm this?

Also in pocket items, the Aughaire Challenge quest series has one that's worth considering for raiding: -1.5% melee vun, +13 vit, +might (only a little but there's a clicky for +15might for 10mins every 30 as well), +79 morale. Since you don't really need massive evades in PvE raids it might be worth having it for the extra vit/moral.

So I wanna say goodbye to my friends who didn't know/hear that I'm moving to a Bellocan server. Some of my friends know the reasons already but I'm gonna tell em here.

I am on my first charactor and on starting (in ignorance as to what the game was about) I chose to be a farmer ....... however I would like to change this to a more dynamic hobby

It depends on how you want to play the game, I think.

If you have just one character, you can get through the levels more quickly and into the other areas like evendim, Rivendell & Angmar more quickly. The downside is that you only see one type of race and character.

If you play more than one, you get the chance to try out a different race or class. In the eralier levels, you get to see different areas, depending on which race you choose - ered Luin, the Shire, Breeland etc. The downside to that is that you don't get through the levels so quickly.

Different people will tell you to do different things. I find it hard to stick with just one character, even though I think I should do, because I like the variety - But that's just my preference

Scamming is rampant across Maplestory. Here's a few tips to avoid them

1. When buying an item, always put half of the price up, and ask the other person to show the item. If not, then immediately close the trade window

Ok, this tells you how to take a cash shop item and put in a different server to another character. Example, If you play in Bera and also have a character in Scania. you can transfer the item from the guy in bera, to the guy in scania. First, wait until any cash shop item expires from your guy in bera, then unequip any cash shop item that you want to transfer, so it shows it in your inventory. (but don't enter the cash shop in bera or it wont work!) Then Go to the character in scania and enter the cash shop, it will tell you the item that in Bera expired, and all your cash shop items that weren't equipped with the guy in Bera will appear in the Cash shop in Scania! this trick also works with pets.

Basics: we are RANGED but when soloing we spend 50% of the fight at melee thats why Turbine improved the melee skills.

Use Swift Arrow as an opener and all the usal stuff but learn to use the melee skills. Check the blindside skill: adds with no induction 3 focus (that will let you use penetrating shot soon after) and check the other skills (like swift stroke) for a +8% parry chance. At level 50 this is more than 20% parry chance...

Learn to combine the new skills to deliver more DPS in less time by avoiding induction times. If you are waiting for a cooldown use some of the melee skills that are ready to go since they deal more damage now and provide som bonuses.

Whoa, talk about putting your passion for the game (and for gold?) and your Net savvy together! This new maptool, courtesy of a European fansite, is a useful resource and aide for players.

According to LOTRO Europe, the maptool currently has “around 760 monsters, 900 NPCs and 122 areas”.
